Juvenile pubic symphysiodesis is a procedure that may be performed in a dog with dysplasia, if recognized at an early age. This is a relatively minor surgery that may provide a more stable hip in the very young animal. For maximum effect, the surgery must be performed before the animal reaches 5 months of age.
