Large Animal Surgery Service

The Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital has been designed to offer unmatched care for large animal surgery patients. In addition to a staff of clinicians highly trained in surgery and the diagnosis of lameness in horses, the hospital offers a facility equipped to handle the unique surgical needs of large animals.

Dr. Michael Livesey teaches students how to grind down a tooth to maintain equine dental health, using a motorized grinder. The tooth has grown too long because the opposing tooth is broken.
