Diagnostic ultrasound uses high frequency sound waves which are beyond the human hearing range. Sound frequencies ranging from 2-10 MHz are used for diagnostic imaging. Ultrasound transducers can either emit sound waves of a single frequency or may have 2-3 frequencies. The majority of our caseload is small animal abdominal imaging, especially in the area of cancer staging. We also perform musculoskeletal imaging in both large and small animals.
