LamenessOsteoarthritis or juvenile skeletal diseases that cause lameness can be diagnosed with routine radiography. Occasionally advanced imaging (diagnostic nuclear medicine, CT, or MRI) may be employed. A common injury in large breed, active dogs is a cranial cruciate ligament rupture. This injury is synonymous with a football knee injury. One of the treatment options offered by the orthopedic service is stabilization surgery, which helps prevent the progression of arthritis.
