Laboratory Services

Clinical pathology is the application of laboratory tests to the solution of clinical problems. Disciplines include hematology, coagulation, cytology, clinical chemistry, endocrinology, urinalysis, microbiology, immunology, and parasitology. The Clinical Pathology Laboratory in the Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital provides diagnostic services for large and small animal patients as well as exotic species.

Anatomic pathology is the study and investigation of disease through the gross and microscopic examination of body tissues. The discipline of anatomical pathology includes animal necropsy (autopsy) and interpretation of biopsy tissue samples by microscopic evaluation.
