All patients are seen by appointment only. Appointment hours vary according
to which service is being seen.
Small Animal Appointments
Go to Emergency Care Information.
Small animal appointments are scheduled Monday through Thursday. The Small
Animal Preventive Medicine Service also sees patients on Fridays and Saturday
mornings. Additional appointment times are available during heartworm testing
season.

When You Arrive at the Hospital
Companion Animals
- Check in at the reception desk (inside the main entrance)
- Provide your vehicle's license plate number for parking purposes
If You've Been Referred
- Consult with your local veterinarian to arrange a referral. Depending upon
the circumstances of the referral, either you or your veterinarian may
schedule the appointment.
- Please bring any medical information with you at the time of the
appointment.
- If you cannot keep your appointment, please call the VMTH Reception Desk.
- If follow-up care is recommended, please arrange for an appointment at the
time your animal is released from the VMTH.
Hospital policy is to provide veterinary service for the problems for which
your animal was referred. We request that you return to your own veterinarian
for treatment of previous medical problems and routine medical care.
Large Animal Appointments
Go to Emergency Care Information.
Appointments are available Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm by calling
608-263-7600 or 1-800-DVM-VMTH. Please select the large animal option from the
menu. It is not necessary to have a referral from a local veterinarian, but it
will allow for easier follow-up care if needed.
When You Arrive at the Hospital
Cows, Horses, Llamas, Alpacas, and other Food-Producing Animals
- Pull up to the Large Animal gate closest to the hospital. (The gate will
automatically open for you).
- Before unloading your animal, check in at the large animal reception desk.
- Large animal hospital staff will assist you with unloading your animal.
If You've Been Referred
- Have your local veterinarian call the clinician on duty to discuss the
case.
- Bring any medical information to the appointment (history, radiographs,
etc.).

1-800-DVM-VMTH.
